In a tale that could have been lifted straight from the pages of a summer novel, Georgia and Joseph’s love story began not at home, but beneath Grecian skies in 2021.
Georgia was holidaying in Greece with her closest girlfriends, enjoying a well-earned break. At the very same time - in the very same town - Joseph was there with his pals, soaking up the final days of his trip. As fate (and perhaps a little Mediterranean magic) would have it, the two groups crossed paths in a lively bar on the last evening of Joe’s holiday. Eyewitnesses report that the sparks were instant.
One drink led to another, and before long the party relocated to the girls’ villa for further festivities. It was there that Joe, fully clothed and full of holiday spirit, made a memorable leap into the swimming pool - a decision that would leave him in need of dry attire. What followed has since become the stuff of legend: Joe emerging in Lucy’s crop top and pink shorts. Remarkably, this bold fashion statement did nothing to deter Georgia - in fact, it may have sealed the deal. Clearly, he was a keeper.
Once home, the connection only deepened. With Joe in Worcester and Georgia in Nantwich, messages flew back and forth daily. Determined to see if holiday chemistry translated to real life, they arranged their first official date in Manchester. Reports confirm it was a resounding success.
So certain was Georgia that she had found her Mr Right, she messaged her mum that very Saturday - mid-date - to ask whether Joe could attend Sunday lunch the next day to meet the family. Approval was swiftly granted.
Thus began a love story powered by determination, and the M6 motorway. Back and forth they travelled between Worcester and Nantwich, clocking up miles and memories in equal measure. Before long, it was undeniable: they were inseparable.
The next chapter saw the couple settle into their bijou apartment in Birmingham city centre, where they began building their life side by side, swapping motorway miles for morning coffees, city strolls and plans for the future. But the story did not stop there. The travel bug soon bit the pair, who were already determined to squeeze every drop out of life. After much persuasive pleading with their respective bosses, they secured a three-month sabbatical. With backpacks packed, a wallet of cash and excitement in their hearts, they departed Heathrow for the sun-soaked shores of Bali, before journeying on to Thailand.
Their adventure unfolded in unforgettable chapters - new cultures, breathtaking landscapes, laughter-filled days and memories captured forever. They brought their once-in-a-lifetime trip to a glittering finale with a few days in Singapore, celebrating their anniversary overlooking Marina Bay, raising a toast to the journey they were on - both across the world and together.
Upon returning to reality (albeit reluctantly), the couple made another bold move, this time geographically. To be closer to Georgia’s work at Bentley, they found a spacious new apartment high above the city in a Manchester skyscraper to call home. Joe secured himself a new job, and their love story continued to gather momentum.Then came March 2025. To celebrate Georgia’s birthday, Joe whisked her away to Lisbon, Portugal. Beneath Portuguese skies, in a moment worthy of headlines, he surprised her with a proposal and a diamond so large it surely caught the light of the entire city. Georgia, of course, said yes.
